Hong Kong Yiquan Society

 
Aim
Hong Kong Yiquan Society is established at 17th July, 1987.  The aim is to promote and develop Yiquan Wushu that founded by the Master Wang Xiang Zhai.  At the same time, we invited famous masters of Yiquan to Hong Kong to set up seminars and training programs. These will raise the standard of local practitioners.

Masters from Overseas
For the past years, we have invited Master Hon Sing Chiu in 1987, and Yiu's brothers in 1988 to visit Hong Kong and set up classes; Wong Yuk Fong, Yue Wing Yeun and Sheung Chi Long in 1989, Wong Yuk Fong again in 1991 to set up Yiquan Health Instructor Training course.  In 1993 and onwards for three times, Hon Chi Wong is invited to set up an intensive long systematic courses.  In 1994 Tsui Sui Bun and Cheung Ming Jit are invited for a seminar on Yiquan's power. In 1995 we also invited Dau Sai Sing from Taiwan to expose the source and knowledge of Yiquan. Recently we have also invited Hon Jin Sun from ChuHai to set up three continous courses.

We have also has close relationship with the related Yiquan associations, like Beijing and America. We have also formed groups and traveled to ChuHai to visit Master Hon Sing Chiu.

Local Activities
In order to promote this art, from 1994, we have set up several local classes of Yiquan with the assistant of Hong Kong Wushu Union. We have published newsletters, forming tours and annual dinners to exchange techniques and improve friendship. In 1994, we have published a book "Collection of Yiquan".

10th Anniversary
For the 10th anniversary of our association, we have formed "Yiquan Conference in China" with Beijing Yiquan association and we formed a tour to attend the conference at Beijing in December 1997.  The purpose of this conference is to determine the rules and regulations of Yiquan Sanshou free-fight, Push Hand and a ranking system for Yiquan.  Several tournaments have been tested in China and is still under development.
